Roberto” AKA the Anvil Fork Blade Bender, Raker, Offsetter dealio.
“Roberto” is for bending two fork blades at the same time in a variety of different bend styles and offsets. It uses two Type 2 levers acting together to develop incredible mechanical advantage while simultaneously providing a very progressive feel & feedback as you come to the end of the stroke. The bender die itself is an ellipse that varies from a 5” to 17” center line radius and allows the builder to set the blade stop and pivot brackets along that ellipse to produce the rake or bend style desired. It can develop up to 80mm of offset in one stroke producing anything from a high offset randonneur style fork to a low offset track fork or a classic road bend all using the same bender. The wear surfaces of the bender are hard anodized and have the variables permanently engraved to aid the builder in documenting their bends. Roberto also features positive stops for both blade tips and bending stroke along with a set of “Nylon Knuckles” to keep the blades in phase with each other.
Roberto is no a miracle worker, folks. His programming is simple and he’s basically a one-trick pony. He won’t satisfactorily bend seat stays, seat tubes, large diameter round profile thin wall blades, defeat the Galactic Empire, or give you that 80’s big hair band look you’ve always dreamed of having.
